Portfolio of the Artist
 Sample Monotype |
I have been a painter since 1989 and printmaker since 1997. Through painting and printmaking I record, interpret and enhance my visual, emotional and spiritual awareness. My form of expression includes still life, landscape, abstract paintings and prints. My images are greatly influenced by feminism, my strong commitment to personal and universal healing, and my respect for all individuals, nature, and the universe.
The imagery here reflect joy and passion for travel, adventure, nature, community and home. I am exhibiting collagraph, monotype and intaglio prints. I blend and layer colors. I move around and through the ink. I reflect back, and, with color and imagery, put on paper my emotional and visual response to a place or event.

New Body Of Work March 2002
This is a new body of work. It combines an initial monotype print, with
collagraph prints on top, and finished with hand-painting. It is expresses
the connection between nature, spirituality and healing.

 Sample Collagraph |
Collagraph prints are from a plate I construct with mat board by cutting into the surface of the plate, and by raising the surface with mat board and glues. The plate is used to print multiple prints of the same image. Each print is unique, because I use different color inks and different application techniques. These techniques include using ink of varying thicknesses, applying the inks with cards, brushes or rollers, using hard and soft rollers, and selectively wiping and removing ink with paper towels, thin paper, rubber edged tools and fingers.

Monotypes are printed from a plexi-glass plate inked with different color inks, applied with the variety of tools and methods used for collagraphs. A monotype plate produces one unique print.

 Sample Mixed Media |
Intaglio prints are from copper plates. The surface of the plate has been etched into by a chemical or tool. Then the plate is inked using the same techniques as collagraph. Each successive print is inked the same resulting in more than one of the print, called an edition.
